The Tinga Safari Lodge one of the absolute best luxury safari lodges in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. The luxurious suites at Legends and Narina are situated so that they have the best possible view of the Sable River, which has one of the highest recorded densities of leopards in Africa, as well as one of the highest predator densities.

Of the two, Legends is more of a classic safari experience which exudes a sense of colonial grandeur which opens up onto a massive wooden deck and manicure lawns. Narina, however, offers a more African feel with its wooden floors and walls, with the main deck perched elegantly atop stilts, offering more of an intimate and secluded environment on the Sabie River.

Safaris are conducted in open vehicles, in the early morning and late afternoon. Drives are usually 3 hours in duration
Early morning drives usually stop for refreshments in the middle of the drive. Afternoon drives usually stop for sundowners at a scenic spot (where possible) before proceeding with a night drive
Drives are conducted with guides and trackers
Strong focus on finding the larger game, attention is also given to the smaller animals, birdlife, vegetation
No children under six years of age are permitted on a safari

Directions

The Tinga Safari Lodge is located in the Southern part of Kruger National Park. By road, Tinga is approximately five hours from Johannesburg. The recommended route is from Johannesburg along N12/N4 to Nelspruit, then from Nelspruit through Hazyview on R536 to the Paul Kruger Gate. From the Gate, the Tinga Lodge is approximately five miles away. Some travelers may prefer to fly to Johannesburg and continue on to Tinga by car, while others may prefer to either hire a private charter or fly a private plane into the park. Private air charters are available on request, and the we happy to help you arrange one for you upon enquiry. Private aircraft are encouraged to be in contact with either the Tinga Lodge or Skukuza should be flying yourselves.
