Thonga Beach Lodge offers a little slice of paradise on one of Africa’s most unspoilt coastlines. If your idea of the perfect holiday is lounging on a beach in absolute seclusion, surrounded by forests and bush, with nothing to do but lie on the beach, scuba dive and snorkel, then Thonga is about as good as it gets.

As with many seaside destinations in South Africa, timing is everything if you’re planning a trip to Thonga Beach Lodge. While Kwa-Zulu Natal is not as windy as Cape Town, it is advised to go a little before or after peak season (December-January), so as to avoid both the crowds and the winds. At Thonga Beach Lodge, however, crowds will be the last thing on your mind.
