The Grande Roche is situated in Paarl, right in the heart of South Africa’s lush wine lands and its history goes all the way back to 1717, when a grant of land was given to the original owner of the site. Over the years, it has had its share of drama, including a fire, but was restored in 1991 as a luxury hotel in the timeless Cape Dutch style. It has since been declared a National Monument of South Africa.
