Savute is also the battleground between lions and hyenas, as you may have seen in documentaries made by National Geographic. As it rains in summer, the dryness is replaced with an abundance of wildlife, perfect for viewing.

The difference of Savute

• Unlike the lush flora of Chobe, Savute is quite arid – making it easier to spot game from further away

Savute Lions

Directions

If you fly with Air Botswana, you will be able to fly directly to Maun or Kasane. From there, it is a short flight to the Savute airstrip, where the welcoming and enthusiastic staff will greet you. After that, a short one hour drive in an open-topped safari vehicle takes you to your destination, hopefully with some game spotting on the way in!
