Majeka House is a beautiful, private boutique hotel, owned by Karine and Lloyd van der Merwe, nestled in the heart of Cape Town’s winelands. The large central pool with a retractable glass roof is a favorite with guests, as it allows year-round swimming.

The décor throughout is modern with light tones and beautiful patterned wallpaper and the best feature is the long pool under glass roofing which slides open so guests can swim all year round.
Here is a quick ‘tour’ of what you can expect of the different suites on offer. The Premier Rooms are well-appointed, luxurious and spacious, and offer the perfect balance of luxury and value for money at Majeka House. The Superior Suites are larger than the Premier Rooms, and look out onto the private pool. The Pool Suites, which are two ultra-luxurious suites only opened in December 2010, and share a private pool, while The Villa, Majeka House’s premium luxury accommodation has three bedrooms, lounge dining room, fully-equipped kitchen and a private pool.
The Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room will undoubtedly be a favourite before taking to the gym or maybe just straight off to the spa for a delectable treatment. A lovely garden with sun loungers and outdoor tables and chairs set for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just for a nice drink taking in the tranquil Winelands surroundings.
The restaurant “Makaroon,” bar and lounge at Majeka House are tastefully decorated and guests might feel that they are at a hip and happening city restaurant. It will take you only a short 10 minute drive to get into the town of Stellenbosch itself, one of the country’s most prestigious wine regions or to explore the wine regions a far, take a 30 minute drive over the spectacular Helshoogte Pass, adorned by mountains on either side, to the quaint little French town of Franschoek, the jewel of South Africa’s cuisine and wine industry. Spend a lazy day touring the wine estates and sipping world class wine to walking the streets of the crafty, town center. A 45 minute scenic drive will lead you to Cape Town city center, to enjoy and visit some of the famous attractions including: Table Mountain, the 360 degree rotating Cable Car, Clifton and Camps Bay beaches, Cape Point and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Majeka House is ideally located for ensuring you have a splendid few days of sight seeing and entertainment.
