At Kichwa Tembo, one of the most loved safari camps in Kenya, you will be able to experience a natural phenomenon that few human beings have ever seen outside of a David Attenborough film: the great migration. More than two million wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores move through the area from August to October. This event, including the Mara River crossing, is something most people will never see and is a memory to be cherished forever.

Kichwa Tembo is located on the Western border of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in southwestern Kenya. This private concession of land, leased from Maasai landlords is at the base of the Oloololo escarpment, just below where one of the most famous scenes from Out of Africa was shot. From here you can see Mara River crocodiles, black-maned Mara lions, huge herds of elephant and the red-tailed monkey.
