Grootbos is an eco-friendly resort not far from Cape Town, perched above where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet and surrounded by Milkwood forests. At Grootbos, choose from either the Forest or the Garden lodge where both have single or double bedroom suites so families can easily be accommodated.

Facilities:

These five star lodges have magical views of the ocean from a private terrace. Each room is equipped for a king and queen, with a fireplace, extra length beds and a spacious en-suite bathroom.

Family Friendly:

Families are best accommodated at the five star Garden lodge where activities and adventures are planned making a learning experience for the entire family. Special activities are arranged for just the children so they learn as their parents relax, or go shark cage diving or on a fynbos walk. While Grootbos is a family centered holiday resort, babysitting services are available. Children’s menus are available whenever the kitchen is open.

Activities:

At Grootbos there are many nature-based activities very close to the lodges. This protected land is home to the indigenous fynbos plant which can be seen either on a walk, a horse ride, or in a 4×4. If you feel like a more of an adventure, join in for a full day of one of the most popular tourist attractions on the Cape – Shark cage diving with killer Great White Sharks. Grootbos will also take you to see the whales from the De Kelders cliffs known for the fantastic views of these magnificent creatures as they come within 30 meters of the shoreline.

Ecotourism:

Grootbos is a profound example of true ecotourism crossed harmoniously with luxury accommodation. This award-winning 1750 hectare reserve with fabulous views and access to South African adventure while still only being 160 km (100 Miles) from Cape Town is unparalleled and well worth a family visit.
